Happy Chinese New Year~

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR~

My oh my, it's already the 3rd day of CNY that I have time to blog, pardon me!

So how was everyone's CNY so far?  Any major celebration?  Or a quiet family affair?  Mine was a mixture of both, so far.  I am still a bit of an anti-social.  Well, to phrase it correctly, I should say that I am only anti-social to a selected bunch of people, hahahahahaha~

What should I say?  This CNY is nothing but fun, fun, fun!  A week or so before that, I was lamenting to my friends and colleagues that I haven't got the CNY feel yet.  I don't have the mood to buy clothes yet when most of my friends are done with their clothes shopping!

Then, it all began on a Saturday.

I woke up with the urge of visiting this boutique I have never stepped into before.  I quickly bathed and dragged my mum along.  Ended up buying 2 tops and 1 denim shorts.  There and then, the feel came  :)

The following Friday, WT and I made plans to shop at another place that I've never liked to go... or rather, always avoided due to the crowd - Dataran Pahlawan.  All in all, we spent about 6 hours there.  In between, we had our late lunch at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng and also another 1.5 hours spent karaoke-ing  :)))  Too bad my voice cracked due to the terrible cough.  Loot of the day?  A nice looking (and cheap too!) belt.  3 blouses.  2 working shirts.  Ishhhhh~  syokkkkkkkkk!

Then we went to our favourite cafe for dinner.  Shuckkkkssss.. the cool guy wasn't around.  I made a wild guess - he has resigned?!!!  Waaaaaaaaaaaa~  the atmosphere was definitely different without him there!  sob!  sob!

My last round of shopping was on Friday - 2 days before CNY.  This was the peak of all.  11 hours spent with KC.  11 freaking hours, can you believe it?!!!  Best of the best!  We went to the new Jusco at 10am.  Shopped for some baking stuffs then headed straight to the ladies' department where we searched for and tried on countless clothes, be it blouses, singlets, pants or skirts (for KC).

We must have spent nearly 3 hours or so there.  Loot of the day?  Wah, a lot lor!  5 singlets, 3 blouses and 4 pants, some happy coloured undies, panty hose, etc.  Did I miss out any?  I seriously can't remember all coz our basket was full to the brink.  All that I know is, we were a few hundred ringgits poorer, and we had to keep on chanting "No more looking at clothes, no more looking at clothes, no more looking at clothes!!!"

Then we had our lunch at Kenny Rogers, mannnnn, it has been a while, and I must admit that I had a satifying meal!  Especially my all time favourite Seasons Iced Lemon Tea.  Then we went to Brands Outlet and Padini. There were so many clothes that caught our eyes, and we had to keep on chanting our mantra for the day to resist the temptation!  Both of us fell in love with a skirt and made a pact to buy them the next time KC is back since it's buy 1 free 1  :)

Next :  Shoes hunting.  Me, for my mummy dearest, and KC for herself.  We were like jakuns going oooooohhhhhhh~ and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh~  when we discovered shops after shops selling shoes!  And that was when she exclaimed, wah, no need to go to to KL already like this!!!

At nearly 5pm, we had to leave for our facial appointment.  If not for it, I am positive we would shop on till the cows come home!  I did lip waxing and also, *ahem* eyelash perm upon recommendation by Em.  First timer, so ok lar, not much comments :)  but Em was terrific~

Then it was dinner at Uncle John Kopitiam.  Had the Thai sauce chicken chop rice.  Not bad.  The geragau was a bit oily and does not have much ingredients.  Not going to order this anymore though.  2 glasses of iced honey lemon to quench my thirst.  Boyyyyyy, why is it so hot in Malacca nowadays?

Oh yes, there was a bunch of very noisy people sitting across us and when I said they were noisy, I really mean it.  Loud and noisy.  So much so that even the 2 ladies sitting beside us beh tahan and shifted outside coz it was practically quite impossible to talk.  Their laughters (every minute or so) would drown our meek voices!  And how can I forget the girl who looks okay, but cringed her nose each time she laughed?  And the over exaggerated expression, ishhhhhhh~

CNY eve was pretty busy cooking for prayer in the afternoon.  Offerings to our ancestors.  Putting up curtains, changing new bedsheet, and yes, I've decided to use the new silk comforter set I've bought 3 years ago.  We must live in the present.  What for keep for the future, when I don't even know if I'll still be here tomorrow right?  That's my motto now.  Live in the Present  :)

Reunion dinner was among our immediate family and when night falls, we got ready for the midnight prayer to usher in the new year.  Lots of ear-deafening firecrackers over here.... even pretty fireworks and I am so surprised that my dear Ben boy (or Ni-ni) loves the fireworks so much that he went all the way out to the main gate and gazed at the sky!  Usually he's afraid of loud things, especially when there's thunder.  He would bark as if scolding the thunder for scaring him, serious!

I slept at about 3am.  CNY is finally here.  Another year had passed.  A new year signifies a new beginning.  Put whatever unhappy things behind and look forward to the new horizon in front of you.  Throw away the negative things and keep the happy memories.  We only live once.  That is why, I'm really grateful that I am still alive today.

Gong Xi Fatt Chai everyone~
