2nd day of CNY was spent in Seremban. This year, I made a significant change. I decided to visit my grandmother in Seremban during CNY. I've not seen her since 2008 if I am not mistaken. However, lately, she has been unwell and it actually worries me that she has been going in and out of hospital, it is almost like her second home now.
I told myself to visit her before it is too late, if you know what I mean. She knows my predicament already alas, and made no attempt to question me on it, what a relief, coz I would really want to rest the case and not mention about it anymore, ever. Back to my grandma. Although I have never really been close to her due to the distance between us, but it pains my heart secretly, to be seeing how much she has aged over the last few years. Her hearing has worsens, and she needs aid when walking. She is no longer the strict grandma who could not tolerate the slightest noise around her, as what I remember her as back from the 80s and 90s.
Another change that comes along would be my open interaction with my relatives. Certain relatives. I've allowed them into my world again. I've spoke to them like how I used to again. I've convinced myself that it is time to let it go, although I still have some reservations about letting down my guard.
Anyway, my 2nd day of CNY was basically spent with relatives. 3rd day onwards, it was all friends, friends, and more friends :))) We met at CF's house for visiting and a lil bit of gambling coz YL is very adamant on winning KH this year, so as to earn some "satay celup money" for afterwards! Hahahahahahaha.. I think I have to repeat every year about this same old story. The story about how 3-4 of us will gamble at CF and KH's house, and how we also lost to KH no matter how good we are at showing poker face to him, and how YL grumbled that she has lost *all* her money and she has none left to eat satay celup for the secondary school friends reunion after that! Hahahahahhahaa...
But you know what? I think this might be the last time I'm repeating the story coz *jeng jeng jeng* this year, YL FINALLY won some money for a change! Not much though, enough for 10 sticks of satay celups perhaps!!!
So later that evening, we drove down to McQuek for our secondary school friends reunion and we have another member joining us this time round. A person who dislikes people calling her by her chinese given name and insisted that we should call her by her english name coz she, herself has forgotten about the name her parents given to her 33 years ago! Hahahahaha, okay, I'm a meanie, sorry! But we had good times laughing over a pot of hot, steaming satay kuah and more than 100 sticks of satay celups.
We had to leave coz there were other people waiting to be seated, so we some of us who could stay on, adjourned to the Thong Shui House nearby. The four of us had fun digging up funny incidents about our secondary school life and that somehow ignited the naughtiness in us, which drove us to do something unexpected. We went to "investigate" somebody's house in the neighbourhood nearby just to admire the grandness of it. Or to prove the authencity? Hahahahahahaha...
Okay before I end this post, I just have to say this. Look at this cute little boy down here?
It is CF's son number 2. Very smiley and cheerful that I instantly fell in love with him! But no, this is not the thing that I wanna say here. It's his name. So what's wrong with his name, you might ask me. Well, his name in chinese contains the chinese character "je" or is it "zhe", sorry, my hanyu pinyin sucks and I'm lazy to start up my NJ Star. Basically, he is sort of named after her (or rather our) favourite singer during schooling time - Jeff Chang Sin Je! We were so crazy over him at one point, that I started buying ALL his cassettes. Ya lar, at that time, cassettes are the "in" thing. Only the rich owns CDs okay! CF, if you're reading this, tsk tsk tsk~~~ Hahahahahahaha.. kidding kidding!
