Ho ho ho~ Aikks, it's not even Christmas yet so why on earth am I ho-ho-ho-ing?!!!
Okay, cut the crap out. I know I've been lying to everyone lately. More grossly, I lied to myself. I said I'll buckle up and pick up blogging again very soon. That "very soon" was not forthcoming and I only had two miserable posts last month. Reason being, I was too busy going out, celebrating Chinese New Year with people dear to me, that I have no time to sit down and blog (-__-")
So, 15 days of CNY had passed. How did it go for you? I was on work leave for 10 whole days (inclusive of the weekends) and I went out every S-I-N-G-L-E day. If last year's CNY was a low profile one for me, this year's was certainly an up-and-going one. I was hardly at home and I only spent 2 days out of that 10 with my family, gulp... *guilty guilty*
So CNY eve was as usual, busy helping mummy dearest in the kitchen for prayer preparation in the afternoon. Then it's all those last minute thingy like putting up new curtains, stapling ang pao packets into threes and hanging them at the window, sleeping like a piggy in between and preparing for the reunion dinner, and later, ushering in the new year at the strike of 12 in the midnight.
I still chose to skip the gathering in the morning. Still reluctant. Period. But I made my way to YL's house in the afternoon to meet WT and YC. YL came back from UK and it's a tradition to meet up at her house on the 1st day of CNY, just like how it was tradition to meet up with KC for dinner on the 1st day of CNY!
Poor WT had to work on the very first day of CNY and we all joked about her only taking 1/2 day leave for CNY! Man, that girl is like married to her job! I wouldn't even dream of working on the 1st day of CNY. Never! Not even if you paid me a thousand dollars. Eh wait... did you say a THOUSAND dollars? Okay, maybe I would consider, keh keh keh~
After YL's house, I made my way to KC's house and almost melted under the hot, burning sun. I would have collapsed onto her sofa, seriously sunburnt and dehydrated if not for her yummylicious laksa and pai tee, courteous of her super mum. I was like a humpty-dumpty at the end of the evening, too full and bloated to walk straight. Sorry lar KC, I really tak larat wanna try all your cookies lar :)
Back at home, I intended to take a 1.5 hours of nap before meeting her for dinner but you know what I ended up doing? Boy, you'll never believe this! I was hooked to the malay novel she loaned me, can someone please tell me, when was the last time I ever held a malay novel????? Honestly I can't quite remember. Was it 18 years ago? Or 15? Definitely more than 15 coz remembered reading Ali Setan, borrowed from the school library, on SE's recommendation. This book I read, Yang Sebenarnya, is a bit corny, I mean the storyline, but I chuckled every now and then coz it has really been a long time since I last read something so "Malay"... hahahhahahaha... and I've forgotten some words!!!
So, I didn't even manage to get forty winks. Rushed out to meet KC for dinner at our old faithful, Pizza Hut. This is what we had. Pretty much the same things, except for this time, we tried new drinks and it was not bad. Other than that, everything else seemed pretty normal. Errrmmmm, service was quite bad that night due to the overwhelming customers.
